Miracle Memories
In 2023
In 2023, MHT Housing, Inc. hosted the 6th Annual Miracle on Vernor in the parking lot of Springwells Apartments. 3000+ free hot meals and hot drinks were served as well as 500 pies! The community received 690 boxes of food, 4000 hats and gloves, 1250 blankets, 1500 kids backpacks, 800 dental kits, 10,000 socks and 27 haircuts. It was a beautiful day of giving back and Santa even brought his reindeer!
In 2022
This year MHT Housing, Inc. hosted the 5th Annual Miracle on Vernor in the parking lot of Springwells Apartments, just across the street from the Detroit Public Library. The community received a total of 2,500 hot meals, 400 pies, 500 mugs, 1,500 hot drinks, and 1,000 cold drinks. In addition, 2,000 Hats and Gloves, 170 boots, 234 blankets, 250 dental kits, 100 books, and 624 sweatshirts were donated to the community. We deeply appreciate our sponsors and all contributing parties for making the 5th Annual Miracle on Vernor a huge success. Another year down, another successful day of giving back!
In 2021
Due to excessive food shortages and COVID restrictions, the Miracle on Vernor team got creative on how they would be giving back to the Community this year. A large donation was given to the Detroit Cristo Rey High School in order to assist with much needed support due to the struggles the school had as a result of pandemic challenges. It was a great way to give back to the school that had allowed us to host our event for so many years! In addition, the Miracle on Vernor Team hit the road and donated socks, gloves and hats to various affordable housing developments in the community to help those in need!
In 2020
Things were different this year...MHT Housing, Inc. hosted a drive-thru pick-up at Detroit Cristo Rey along with delivering boxes of food and bags of winter apparel to each doorstep in the surrounding community. In total, MHT was able to hand out 2,150 boxes of food, 2,300 bags of winter apparel, 1,000 pairs of socks, and 600 sweatshirts.

In all, every donation was handed out and it was a successful day of giving.
In 2019
This past December, the community received 2,600 hot meals, 1,500 packages of food and personal hygiene items, 12,000 pairs of Bombas socks, hundreds of clothing and winter apparel items, over 100 haircuts and blood pressure checks, and an endless amount of holiday cheer!
MHT received donations from over twenty sponsors who we could not thank more for their support.
All of the donations were handed out yet again, and all enjoyed the wonderful day of giving.
In 2018
The first annual Miracle on Vernor took place outside of Detroit Cristo Rey High School as a two day event on December 14th and 15th.
MHT was able to give back to more than 2,000 members of the community. Over 2,200 hot meals were served, 100 haircuts were performed, and all of the donations were handed out.
Some of the many donors included corporate sponsors such as Bombas and Kroger who supplied MHT with 3,000 socks and $500 worth of groceries. Other donors helped with additional groceries and clothing items such as hats, gloves, scarves, and coats.
In all, MHT was so grateful for the success of the event and couldn’t wait to continue the tradition for years to come.
